Ghost Bites (Capital Appreciation | Gemfields | MAS | Master Drilling | Vunani)

Capital Appreciation enjoyed a much better financial year. Gemfields has good news from Mozambique. MAS released the notice of the EGM. Master Drilling is increasing its stake in A&R. Vunani's results are poor.

Ghost Bites (Assura – Primary Health Properties | MultiChoice | Naspers – Prosus | Pan African Resources)

Pan African Resources and Naspers/Prosus have both been winners for me this year, with latest numbers showing why. MultiChoice is in much pain. Assura is going ahead with the KKR/Stonepeak offer, not the Primary Health Properties merger.

GHOST BITES (Alphamin | Assura – Primary Health Properties | Jubilee | Purple Group)

Purple Group's growth flywheel is spinning. Alphamin is back up and running at the Bisie tin mine. Assura has rejected the Primary Health Properties deal and gone with the all-cash offer from KKR/Stonepeak.

GHOST BITES (African Rainbow Minerals | Exxaro | Putprop | Rainbow Chicken)

Rainbow Chicken is definitely the good news story of the day, with Putprop also moving in the right direction. African Rainbow Minerals is getting dragged down by PGMs. Exxaro has been impacted by cost pressures.

GHOST BITES (African Rainbow Minerals | Anglo American | Curro | Grindrod | NEPI Rockcastle | Redefine)

African Rainbow Minerals is a victim of the cycle. Anglo American has locked in a long-term deal with the Botswana government for De Beers. Curro is struggling to fill its schools. Grindrod, NEPI Rockcastle and Redefine all delivered financial updates.

GHOST BITES (Aspen | Metair | Rex Trueform | Sanlam | Sasfin)

Aspen is bringing Eli Lilly's Ozempic competitor to the SA market. Metair is getting even less from the Mutlu disposal than we thought. Rex Trueform is buying a software group at a huge multiple. Sanlam unlocked billions from Allianz. Sasfin is delisting this month.
