A busy day for mining saw results come in for BHP, along with the news of Anglo American laughing off the stealmaking coal disposal to Peabody and Harmony Gold getting approval for the copper deal in Australia. Dipula is buying Protea Gardens Mall and several other properties. Deneb is offloading a property.

Ghost Bites (AB InBev | Anglo American | ArcelorMittal | British American Tobacco | Gemfields | Hammerson | Mondi | MTN Nigeria | Woolworths)

AB InBev got dumped, while the market celebrates British American Tobacco - but why? Anglo American is in the doldrums and ArcelorMittal is losing money at pace, while auction revenues have halved at Gemfields. Woolworths, MTN Nigeria and Hammerson are good-news stories, with positive trends at Mondi as well.

Ghost Bites (Anglo American | Kumba Iron Ore | Primary Health Properties)

Anglo American's focus on copper and iron ore might be helpful, but De Beers is just getting worse by the day. Kumba Iron Ore is enjoying better service from Transnet. Primary Health Properties released solid numbers that could get the Assura deal across the line.

A busy day for property saw updates from Growthpoint, Hyprop, Schroder European Real Estate and Sirius Real Estate. We also saw financial updates from 4Sight, Argent Industrial and Thungela.

Brait has been boosted by a much stronger Virgin Active story, alongside Premier's excellent growth. Renergen had another stop-start quarter. A potential Metrofile deal is still in the works.

Ghost Bites (Bell Equipment | British American Tobacco | Hudaco | Momentum)

Bell Equipment's AGM update is interesting, as is Momentum's capital markets day. British American Tobacco is ahead of expectations this year. Hudaco announced a bolt-on acquisition.

Ghost Bites (Altvest | AngloGold Ashanti | Bell Equipment | Hyprop | Momentum | Raubex | Sabvest | Sirius Real Estate | Sygnia |...

Hyprop raised over R800m in cash. Sabvest is investing in pets. Raubex found no substance to whistleblower allegations and released results. We also saw numbers from Altvest, Bell Equipment, Momentum, Sirius Real Estate and Telkom. AngloGold is selling a mine.
