MTN Ghana is off to a great start this year, with Quantum Foods, WeBuyCars and Kore Potash also delivering positive news. Reinet looks flat this quarter. CMH is facing serious problems. The latest auction results at Gemfields look a bit odd. HCI's latest oil drilling is a disappointment. The TRP got a bloody nose on the Novus - Mustek deal.

Fairvest had no problem raising capital. Pepkor announced a major acquisition. Santova has also flagged a potential acquisition. Astoria, Barloworld and Oceana released difficult numbers. Master Drilling's dividend growth has distracted the market from impairments.

Renergen has finally filled a helium container. OUTsurance released exceptional numbers. Thungela is buying out the Australian minorities. Libstar released poor numbers. Look out for ArcelorMittal, Choppies, SA Corporate Real Estate and York Timbers as well.

Astoria has announced the sale of ISA Carstens. Lewis had a fantastic finish to 2024. Vukile's local property performance gives us clues about where the two-pot money went.

Nampak has successfully refinanced its group. Netcare is on for a good year, but PPC investors need to be patient. Spar, York Timber and smaller counters Ethos Capital and MC Mining all released numbers. Rainbow Chicken extracted its results to help shareholders out.

Gemfields, Momentum, PSG Financial Services and Trellidor released numbers. NEPI Rockcastle is buying a large retail centre in Poland. Transaction Capital will not control SA Taxi going forward.

On an extremely busy day of news, we saw updates from property groups Burstone, Emira and Safari, along with difficulties at Barloworld, CMH and Metfair. In financial services, both FirstRand and Old Mutual had important news, along with numerous other companies in the Nibbles section.
