On another ultra busy day of earnings, we saw a positive update from HCI despite pressure in other names in the stable (eMedia / Frontier Transport / Tsogo Sun). Pepkor is my pick in the clothing sector and Zeda is working out well for me. Coronation, Datatec, Santova and Stefanutti Stocks all joined the fray.

Clicks is growing, but nowhere near fast enough for the valuation. Cashbuild has some positive momentum. Sasol's guidance for the year is encouraging. Spear REIT had no trouble raising the R1 billion in equity. Valterra Platinum's production numbers need to be viewed carefully.

FirstRand has suffered huge losses from the FCA's motor redress scheme in the UK. Combined Motor Holdings (CMH) continues to do well. Purple Group is also on a strong growth path.

Sea Harvest just had the year of their lives. Nedbank has taken major transformative steps. Shoprite is still growing despite the low-inflation environment. Aspen, Brimstone, Caxton, Discovery, iOCO, Optasia, WBHO and Weaver rounded out a busy day on the market.

AB InBev's beer volumes are dropping, while British American Tobacco reminds us what an industry in decline looks like. South32 did well overall. Altron has flagged higher earnings. Brimstone has been boosted by Sea Harvest. The show is sadly over at Tongaat Hulett, with disastrous effects on the sugar value chain.

Hyprop's bookbuild was a huge success and now Stor-Age is jumping on that bandwagon. Vodacom is taking control of Safaricom. Sappi is trying to improve its situation in European graphic paper. British American Tobacco is selling down ITC Hotels, while Brimstone is reducing its Oceana stake.

Cell C's offer is open to qualifying shareholders. Brait is enjoying a strong lift at Virgin Active. Premier - RFG have released their merger circular. Italtile is still struggling. Sanlam's numbers are going to become trickier to interpret.
