Famous Brands is up at group level, but the performance remains far too reliant on the manufacturing side of the business. Quilter's net inflows continue. Vunani has positive momentum. Salungano signed a coal supply agreement with Eskom.

The Prime Kapital parties almost have control of MAS. STADIO is growing strongly. Nedbank is selling Ecobank. Sibanye's earnings are up 19x year-on-year. Aveng's numbers are deeply in the red. African Rainbow Minerals bought more of Surge Copper. Vodacom and Remgro are nearly there with the fibre deal.

An interesting day of news saw numbers come in from Adcorp, Astral Foods, Famous Brands, Netcare, Renergen, Tharisa and Vodacom. Prosus has moved ahead with the all-cash offer for Just Eat Takeaway.com.

GHOST BITES (BHP | Dis-Chem | Finbond | FirstRand | Mondi | Sibanye-Stillwater | Sun International | The Foschini Group)

Dis-Chem released excellent results. The Comp Comm wants to prohibit Sun International's Peermont deal. FirstRand has legal issues in the UK, while TFG has bought another business there. Look out for BHP, Finbond, Mondi and Sibanye as well.

GHOST BITES (AB InBev | EOH | Famous Brands | Grindrod | Harmony | Nampak | Zeder)

AB InBev, Grindrod and Nampak announced major deals, while Zeder completed one. EOH and Famous Brands released results. Harmony is happy to see the back of a legacy contract.

On an extremely busy day of news, we saw updates from property groups Burstone, Emira and Safari, along with difficulties at Barloworld, CMH and Metfair. In financial services, both FirstRand and Old Mutual had important news, along with numerous other companies in the Nibbles section.

African Rainbow Minerals suffered a sharp drop in earnings. Alphamin released detailed financials for Q2. Gold Fields needs a far better second half. Grindrod struggled in the Logistics business.

Accelerate Property Fund is paying up for F&G to manage Fourways Mall. NEPI Rockcastle looks solid as ever. There's no final dividend at Sasol as they look to reduce debt.
