In the grocery sector, we saw Shoprite with a quarterly update and Tiger Brands with a bullish narrative. In telcos, Vodacom had a great period and Telkom has built on the success of last year. Look out for Exemplar REITail and Octodec in property, along with Omnia, PPC and Raubex from the "real" economy. Finally, Sibanye settled with Appian.

Ghost Bites (Harmony Gold | Metrofile | Orion Minerals | Quantum Foods | Safari Investments)

Quantum Foods had a much softer second half, but still a vastly improved year. Harmony Gold completed the MAC Copper deal. Metrofile and Safari Investments released their deal circulars. Orion Minerals released a quarterly report.

GHOST BITES (Ascendis | Capital Appreciation | CA Sales | Datatec | Fairvest | Heriot | Sirius Real Estate)

CA Sales locked in another excellent year. Datatec, Fairvest and especially Heriot are all growing. Sirius Real Estate announced more deals. Capital Appreciation has stemmed the software bleeding. Ascendis is now an investment entity.

GHOST BITES (AYO Technology – Mustek | Insimbi Industrial Holdings | Sanlam | Visual International)

Sanlam has closed the Assupol deal. AYO sold a business to Mustek. Insimbi is in the red. Visual International is issuing shares to settle debt.
