Fairvest's portfolio strategy is working beautifully. Barloworld is having another difficult year, whereas Ethos Capital is having a much better time of things. Tsogo Sun is excited about the casino opportunity in Somerset West. Capital Appreciation has settled the Dariel earn-out after it missed profit targets.

Canal+ is in effective control of MultiChoice. Blu Label released full details for the Cell C listing, leading to plenty of differing opinions online. PPC's turnaround is working and even York Timber is looking better. Renergen has settled with Springbok Solar. Choppies is doing well in Botswana despite macroeconomic concerns. KAL Group is selling Agriplas.

Caxton achieved strong profit growth despite tepid newspaper conditions. Ascendis Health is thinking of delisting. Gemfields held its first emerald auction this year. Accelerate Property Fund sold a building. Schroder Real Estate's dividend could be at risk.

African Rainbow Minerals had a poor period. Bell Equipment's cash is the highlight. Copper 360 needs to raise R1.15 billion in equity and Dipula Properties successfully raised R559 million. Putprop released results.

Capitec just doesn't stop growing, but Nedbank is acquiring iKhokha to try get a slice of the action. Truworths has suffered a earnings knock, with SA looking especially weak. KAP is doing worse than expected. Grindrod's core earnings are flat. Lighthouse's dividend is up.

Telkom and Premier released excellent numbers, while KAP got a well-deserved klap from the market. Kore Potash has finally got a funding proposal on the table, but it doesn't come cheap. Southern Palladium is raising money. FirstRand's HSBC deal is a step closer to completion.

Mr Price and The Foschini Group reported important numbers in the clothing and homeware sector. In property, we saw numbers from Fairvest and Fortress, while Spear REIT raised cash and MAS saw an improved indicative offer from PK.
