Ghost Bites (Capitec | Grindrod | KAP | Lighthouse | Nedbank | Truworths)

Capitec just doesn't stop growing, but Nedbank is acquiring iKhokha to try get a slice of the action. Truworths has suffered a earnings knock, with SA looking especially weak. KAP is doing worse than expected. Grindrod's core earnings are flat. Lighthouse's dividend is up.

Ghost Bites (FirstRand | KAP | Kore Potash | Premier | Southern Palladium | Telkom)

Telkom and Premier released excellent numbers, while KAP got a well-deserved klap from the market. Kore Potash has finally got a funding proposal on the table, but it doesn't come cheap. Southern Palladium is raising money. FirstRand's HSBC deal is a step closer to completion.

Ghost Bites (Fairvest | Fortress | Mr Price | MAS | Spear REIT | The Foschini Group)

Mr Price and The Foschini Group reported important numbers in the clothing and homeware sector. In property, we saw numbers from Fairvest and Fortress, while Spear REIT raised cash and MAS saw an improved indicative offer from PK.

MultiChoice is still making losses. Fairvest has bought a few properties from Collins. Alphamin has a new majority shareholder. Jubilee Metals is selling the chrome and PGM assets. Brimstone's NAV plummeted. NEPI needs a new CEO. AYO got censured.

Richemont released numbers, as did Pepkor at the other end of the retail spectrum.. Blue Label could list Cell C separately. Collins Property Group, MAS, NEPI Rockcastle and Newpark all had property sector news, in addition to Primary Health upping its play for Assura. Look out for Finbond, Nampak, Nutun and Tiger Brands as well.

GHOST BITES (Anglo American | Anglo American Platinum | aReit | Cashbuild)

Anglo American is ready to demerge Anglo American Platinum. Cashbuild has pulled the trigger on the acquisition of a few hardware stores. aReit has suffered large impairments.

GHOST BITES (iOCO | Kore Potash | Renergen)

iOCO (previously EOH) has made strong progress in its margins. Kore Potash has suffered a wobbly with funding plans, but hopefully only a small one. Renergen released a quarterly update.
