Lesaka Technologies off to a good start in FY26. Sappi is suffering great pain, but at least they acknowledge it - unlike Truworths. Purple Group is charging up the J-curve. Sibanye-Stillwater is loving life, while Motus is also adapting well. Vodacom Please Call Me looks to be around R540 million. We saw deal news at Transpaco and SA Corporate Real Estate as well.

GHOST WRAP – Earnings season brings out the bulls and the bears

With the August / September earnings season behind us, it's helpful to look at share price moves over the past 30 days on the JSE to see how sentiment has shifted. The PGMs have driven the Top40 higher, while insurance has taken a breather.

Renergen scored an initial victory against Springbok Solar. Murray & Roberts is indeed a doughnut. Anglo's deal with Peabody is under fire. Life Healthcare has complex numbers. Tharisa's production came under pressure. Trematon's capital allocation looks off to me. Choppies is selling Choppies Zimbabwe.

GHOST BITES (Alphamin | Assura – Primary Health Properties | Jubilee | Purple Group)

Purple Group's growth flywheel is spinning. Alphamin is back up and running at the Bisie tin mine. Assura has rejected the Primary Health Properties deal and gone with the all-cash offer from KKR/Stonepeak.

CMH is running out of gears in a disrupted automotive industry. Purple Group is now on the right part of the J-curve, evidenced by the latest numbers.
