A busy day of news saw retail updates from Lewis and Mr Price, along with City Lodge and Netcare as strong growth stories. Investec is finding it harder to grow at the moment. Reunert has strong momentum, while Argent Industrial and Delta Property also have positive stories. Crookes Brothers shows how hard agri really is. Kore Potash and Supermarket Income REIT announced important corporate deals.

AngloGold is cashing in while the gold price is high. AVI, Premier Group and Santam are enjoying strong results. Stor-Age is dependable, but needs to be careful of the UK. Barloworld's earnings continue to drop. Copper 360's capital raise is imminent.

Ghost Bites (Exemplar REITail | Octodec | Omnia | PPC | Raubex | Shoprite | Sibanye-Stillwater | Telkom | Tiger Brands | Vodacom)

In the grocery sector, we saw Shoprite with a quarterly update and Tiger Brands with a bullish narrative. In telcos, Vodacom had a great period and Telkom has built on the success of last year. Look out for Exemplar REITail and Octodec in property, along with Omnia, PPC and Raubex from the "real" economy. Finally, Sibanye settled with Appian.

Pick n Pay's losses remain stubbornly high, with reasons for investors to be concerned about this turnaround. iOCO is doing well these days and has given strong guidance. FirstRand took a 20.1% stake in Optasia. Astoria is adding its name to the list of companies that would prefer to build in private.

ASP Isotopes is raising $210 million to take advantage of the jump in the share price. Vukile Property Fund is raising R2 billion for acquisitions. Karooooo released solid numbers. Exemplar REITail is buying two retail properties. Vunani's trading statement looks good.

Ghost Bites (Aspen | ASP Isotopes | Boxer | Calgro M3 | Canal+ and MultiChoice)

Boxer's underlying story is good, but the IPO ruined profit growth. Canal+ will inward list on the JSE after the MultiChoice deal. Calgro M3's earnings fell this period based on infrastructure timing. ASP Isotopes locked in their biggest ever supply deal. Aspen is thrilled that Mounjaro can be prescribed for obesity in SA.

Ghost Bites (Deneb | Discovery | Equites Property Fund | Hammerson | Pick n Pay)

Pick n Pay might be improving, but they are still loss-making. Discovery has lofty medium-term targets. Equites Property Fund remains bullish on SA vs. UK. Hammerson is enjoying strong support in the debt markets. Deneb is acquiring 80% in Dawning Filters.

Tharisa is transitioning to underground mining over the next decade. Orion Minerals increased the size of its capital raise once more. Old Mutual's new share repurchase programme is a good excuse to understand more about repurchases in general.
