Ghost Bites (Aveng | Clientèle | Gemfields | Mr Price | Nedbank | Octodec | Sasol | SPAR)

There are no easy wins at Sasol, but there are no wins whatsoever at SPAR. Mr Price is pushing ahead with the NKD deal, while Nedbank's NCBA deal in Kenya is making progress. Aveng has many contracts to try and resolve. Gemfields is still facing market pressure in rubies. Octodec has a tricky property portfolio to run. Finally, Clientèle's numbers are complex, but trending higher.

Ghost Bites (Anglo American | AngloGold | Dis-Chem | enX | Sibanye-Stillwater | Spar)

Dis-Chem is focusing on market share gains and the benefits of its rewards programme. Spar can only dream of that world, as they now scramble to find a new CEO. Major mining updates came in from Anglo American, AngloGold and Sibanye-Stillwater. enX is selling the rest of the WAI business to Trichem.

Ghost Bites (Anglo American | ASP Isotopes | DRDGOLD | Jubilee Metals | Nedbank | Schroder European Real Estate | South32)

ASP Isotopes will shortly implement the Renergen deal. Nedbank has finished the sale of Ecobank. Anglo American got another regulatory approval for Teck. Schroder European Real Estate has a tenant problem, South32 has an energy problem and DRDGOLD has a mining unions problem! Jubilee Metals looks ahead to a much better FY26 (hopefully).

Ghost Bites (Absa | Capitec | Italtile | Nampak | Spar | Sygnia)

In banking, Absa's expense growth is a concern and Capitec is acquiring fintech Walletdoc for up to R400 million. In turnaround valley, Nampak is a lot further along in the process than Spar. Italtile is really struggling in this market. Sygnia is growing strongly, but why is dividend growth lagging?

Ghost Bites (Blu Label – Cell C | Hammerson | Sea Harvest | Sirius Real Estate | SPAR)

Cell C's IPO fell short on pricing. SPAR's difficult turnaround continues. Sea Harvest is selling Ladismith Cheese. Hammerson bought a UK property and Sirius Real Estate closed an acquisition in Germany.

Ghost Bites (Barloworld | Capitec | SPAR)

Capitec remains South Africa's most impressive corporate story. At literally the opposite end of the spectrum, we find SPAR with poor growth and clearly no real idea how to fix it. Barloworld has waived the COMESA condition and the offer is now closing this month.

Ghost Bites (Capital Appreciation | Greencoat Renewables | Naspers | Oceana | OUTsurance | Sirius Real Estate | Southern Sun)

OUTsurance released blockbuster results. Capital Appreciation, Oceana and Southern Sun gave helpful business updates. Naspers has decided to do a stock split. Greencoat Renewables needs more wind. Sirius Real Estate raised further debt.
