An exceptionally busy day of news saw financial updates from AECI, Exxaro, Goldrush, Invicta, Lighthouse, MAS, Resilient, Spear REIT and Sephaku. News of corporate actions came through from African Rainbow Minerals, ArcelorMittal, Barloworld and Lesaka Technologies.

Lewis released incredible numbers and Adcorp looks stronger too. Spar is mostly retreating from Europe. The HCI stable (including Deneb, eMedia, Frontier and mothership HCI) released updates. Look out for AME, AYO, Delta Property, Old Mutual and Sea Harvest as well.

GHOST BITES (Castleview – SA Corporate Real Estate | Remgro | Schroder European Real Estate)

Remgro's capital markets day proved that you should find someone who looks at you the way Remgro looks at dividends. Castleview bought more of SA Corporate Real Estate. In other property news, Schroder's valuation dropped again.

GHOST BITES (Astoria | Barloworld | Fairvest | Master Drilling | Oceana | Pepkor | Remgro | Santova)

Fairvest had no problem raising capital. Pepkor announced a major acquisition. Santova has also flagged a potential acquisition. Astoria, Barloworld and Oceana released difficult numbers. Master Drilling's dividend growth has distracted the market from impairments.

GHOST BITES (Altron | Burstone | Cashbuild | Gemfields | Naspers – Prosus | Rainbow Chicken | Sasol | Stor-Age)

Naspers - Prosus set the hares running with news of the Just Eat acquisition. Sasol's results also got a lot of focus. Altron, Gemfields and Rainbow Chicken had positive news to share. Cashbuild is slightly up and Stor-Age is ticking over. Burstone is increasing exposure to Australian industrial properties.

GHOST BITES (Attacq | AVI | Rainbow Chicken | Renergen | Shoprite | Tiger Brands | Woolworths)

Attacq saw the two-pot benefit at the end of 2024. Woolworths didn't, with another poor apparel performance. Shoprite remains a growth juggernaut. AVI extracted profit growth from muted revenue growth. Rainbow Chicken's profits are much higher. Tiger sold out of Chile. Renergen issued shares at depressed prices.
