Ghost Bites (Exemplar REITail | Octodec | Omnia | PPC | Raubex | Shoprite | Sibanye-Stillwater | Telkom | Tiger Brands | Vodacom)

In the grocery sector, we saw Shoprite with a quarterly update and Tiger Brands with a bullish narrative. In telcos, Vodacom had a great period and Telkom has built on the success of last year. Look out for Exemplar REITail and Octodec in property, along with Omnia, PPC and Raubex from the "real" economy. Finally, Sibanye settled with Appian.

Ghost Bites (Lesaka Technologies | Motus | Purple Group | SA Corporate Real Estate | Sappi | Sibanye-Stillwater | Transpaco | Truworths | Vodacom)

Lesaka Technologies off to a good start in FY26. Sappi is suffering great pain, but at least they acknowledge it - unlike Truworths. Purple Group is charging up the J-curve. Sibanye-Stillwater is loving life, while Motus is also adapting well. Vodacom Please Call Me looks to be around R540 million. We saw deal news at Transpaco and SA Corporate Real Estate as well.

Ghost Bites (African Rainbow Minerals | Blu Label – Cell C | Gold Fields | Vodacom)

Cell C has announced its intention to list on the JSE, with Blu Label getting more restructuring steps out the way. Vodacom has settled the Please Call Me matter for an undisclosed sum. Gold Fields is taking advantage of high gold prices. African Rainbow Minerals' Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine is a casualty of ArcelorMittal.

Ghost Bites (Collins Property | Impala Platinum | MC Mining | MTN Nigeria | Nu-World | Renergen | Vodacom)

On a big day for telecoms, both Vodacom and MTN Nigeria released excellent numbers. Collins Property, Impala Platinum, MC Mining and Nu-World also had important updates. Renergen shareholders can thank their lucky stars that ASP Isotopes came along to save them.

Ghost Bites (Burstone | Gemfields | Grand Parade | Remgro)

Remgro's NAV grew solidly this year and they insist on a special dividend instead of more buybacks. Burstone's platform strategy is growing, but perhaps not quickly enough. Gemfields needs things to improve rather urgently. Grand Parade's casino exposure is problematic.

Ghost Bites (African Rainbow Minerals | Aveng | MAS | Nedbank | Sibanye-Stillwater | STADIO | Vodacom – Remgro)

The Prime Kapital parties almost have control of MAS. STADIO is growing strongly. Nedbank is selling Ecobank. Sibanye's earnings are up 19x year-on-year. Aveng's numbers are deeply in the red. African Rainbow Minerals bought more of Surge Copper. Vodacom and Remgro are nearly there with the fibre deal.
