Pan African Resources is quite literally printing cash at the moment. At the other end of the spectrum, Cashbuild has painted a worrying picture about our economy. At Spear REIT, the focus on the Western Cape continues to pay dividends - literally.

Quilter's growth rate in assets under management and administration is impressive to say the least. Closer to home, Coronation is also growing strongly. Karooooo's margins contracted this quarter, but top-line growth is still solid.

Premier and RFG Holdings shareholders gave a resounding approval to the deal that will combine the groups. Fairvest is investing deeper in township fibre. Mantengu has commissioned the second chrome processing plant.

Stor-Age raised capital at a premium to NAV. Gemfields looks brighter. Aveng won't be selling McConnell Dowell for now at least. British American Tobacco unlocked over R7 billion in cash. RMB Holdings received an expression of interest from Atterbury. Reality has hit at Trematon. Schroder European Real Estate is a struggle.

Ghost Bites (AB InBev | Adcorp | Datatec | Dis-Chem | Fairvest | Finbond | Greencoat | Optasia)

Beer volumes are still dropping at AB InBev. Dis-Chem is innovating from a position of strength. Datatec's earnings more than doubled. Great cost control is visible at Adcorp. Optasia's IPO was very successful. Fairvest is buying two malls. Greencoat needs more wind.

Ghost Bites (Accelerate Property Fund | Afrimat | Datatec | Finbond | Newpark REIT | SA Corporate Real Estate)

Afrimat has found some positive momentum. Accelerate released the critical Portside disposal circular. Datatec is flying. In other property news, Newpark REIT has updated earnings guidance and SA Corporate Real Estate is selling Bluff Towers. Finally, Finbond is profitable again.

HCI's proposed deal to sell properties to SACTWU is far from a vanilla transaction. MAS' joint venture agreement with PK is a cautionary tale about the danger of unanimous approvals.
