CA Sales, RCL Foods, Santam and Sea Harvest all released solid numbers. Bidvest, Bell Equipment and Brimstone are struggling to various degrees. Sun International posted a resilient set of numbers. Blue Label has given more details on the Cell C restructure.

Ghost Bites (Anglo American | BHP | Deneb | Dipula | Harmony Gold)

A busy day for mining saw results come in for BHP, along with the news of Anglo American laughing off the stealmaking coal disposal to Peabody and Harmony Gold getting approval for the copper deal in Australia. Dipula is buying Protea Gardens Mall and several other properties. Deneb is offloading a property.

Ghost Bites (Absa | Aveng | CA Sales | MTN | Northam Platinum | Orion Minerals | Thungela)

Absa's earnings were boosted by the credit loss ratio. MTN punters took profit on Monday, but why? Thungela's commitment to its dividend is incredible. CA Sales flagged strong earnings, Northam Platinum had a rough time with Eland and Aveng is an ugly story in Australia. Orion Minerals raised over R20 million from retail investors.

Ghost Bites (Capitec | Grindrod | KAP | Lighthouse | Nedbank | Truworths)

Capitec just doesn't stop growing, but Nedbank is acquiring iKhokha to try get a slice of the action. Truworths has suffered a earnings knock, with SA looking especially weak. KAP is doing worse than expected. Grindrod's core earnings are flat. Lighthouse's dividend is up.

PPC's turnaround looks pretty spectacular, while Alexander Forbes and small cap 4Sight are both doing well. Lighthouse raised R400m in equity. Santova gave loads of details around its strategy. Aveng and Oceana are having tough times. Omnia is flat overall. Barloworld got the green light from the Competition Commission.

In a busy day on the property sector, Growthpoint and Lighthouse announced results, while Sirius has another acquisition in the bag. Ethos Capital had a particularly strong period. Hulamin has flagged weak numbers. Metair has made progress on debt. enX declared a special dividend. Datatec released a useful presentation on Logicalis.

FirstRand and Sanlam released strong financial services sector numbers. Lighthouse is acquiring a property in Madrid and Lesaka completed the Recharger acquisition. MTN Uganda released terrific numbers. Grindrod had a tough year. I still don't know why Novus wants Mustek.

Capital Appreciation's software division is a headache. Exxaro is having a tough year. Life-after-REIT looks great for Fortress. Lighthouse is finding things more competitive than before in Iberia.
