Vodacom released an excellent trading statement. KAL Group is achieving double-digit growth. Pick n Pay is using a s189 to try and reduce store costs. Metair has refinanced its South African debt package.

Harmony Gold, Growthpoint, OUTsurance and Rainbow Chicken were the big names releasing results on the day. Alphamin could have a strong year in 2026. Metair is still struggling. HCI and Deneb are selling non-core properties. Supermarket Income REIT is a game of inches.

Pick n Pay looks more like a basket case by the day, with losses increasing rather than improving. RMB Holdings announced an offer by the Atterbury consortium. Vukile Property Fund's local festive numbers look good. Other updates came in from Bidvest, DRDGOLD, Hyprop, Metair, Northam Platinum and Orion Minerals.

Metair's luck goes from bad to worse. Ethos Capital and HCI are busy with major deals, while Stefanutti Stocks has closed a disposal. SA Corporate Real Estate grew the distribution ahead of inflation. CMH repurchased over 7% of its shares. Valterra Platinum has an investment grade credit rating.

The Foschini Group had a hideous day. Metair and Sirius released juicy investor day presentations with loads of detail. BHP and South32 released quarterly updates. Look out for Oasis Crescent, Reinet and Zeder as well.

Portfolio simplification at Growthpoint is a long slog. Old Mutual was boosted by short-term insurance. Pan African has given strong guidance. Metair is struggling, but surviving. Remgro released a trading statement.

The market didn't like The Foschini Group's update, but Metair and MTN were a hit. RCL Foods had a rough second half. Sappi remains a rollercoaster ride. ADvTECH is buying another school. Blue Label is playing its cards close to its chest.

Ghost Bites (FirstRand | KAP | Kore Potash | Premier | Southern Palladium | Telkom)

Telkom and Premier released excellent numbers, while KAP got a well-deserved klap from the market. Kore Potash has finally got a funding proposal on the table, but it doesn't come cheap. Southern Palladium is raising money. FirstRand's HSBC deal is a step closer to completion.
