Today was one of those days on the JSE that featured a vast array of company updates, covering just about every sector you can think of.

Ghost Bites (Argent Industrial | MiX Telematics | Pepkor | Shoprite | Transaction Capital)

Shoprite is still shooting the lights out. Pepkor released decent numbers. Transaction Capital is serious about unbundling WeBuyCars. Look out for Argent and MiX Telematics as well.

Ghost Bites (AH-Vest | Burstone | Emira | Investec | Life Healthcare | NEPI Rockcastle | Safari | Southern Sun | Trellidor)

Important news came in from the likes of Burstone, Emira, Investec, Life Healthcare and NEPI Rockcastle, just to name a few.

Ghost Bites (Ascendis | Ethos Capital | Grand Parade | Old Mutual | Rebosis | York Timber | Wesizwe Platinum)

Ascendis may go private, but don't get excited. Brait is letting Ethos down. Grand Parade is focused on gaming. Old Mutual on the wrong end of savings culture. Rebosis sells properties at a discount. York gives tighter guidance. Wesizwe is in serious trouble.

Ghost Bites (Attacq | Invicta | RMB Holdings | Sappi | Wesizwe)

Attacq has agreed binding terms for the Waterfall deal with the GEPF. Invicta's odd-lot is going ahead. RMB Holdings is fighting with Atterbury. Trouble in Germany for Sappi and right here at home for Wesizwe.

AECI and Argent are having two different experiences offshore. Crookes released awful results. MAS and Safari are doing well in the property sector. Kibo is still in build phase. Remgro released results for Mediclinic.

Although there were only a handful of stories on the JSE on Thursday, there was big news from Steinhoff and Afrimat got a few tongues wagging in the market. BHP made costly HR errors and Choppies needs equity.

On an intensely busy Friday of JSE news, there was everything from a new B-BBEE deal at Absa through to earnings news from Bell, Caprec and Kore Potash. OUTsurance and Advanced Health are doing deals in Australia. Renergen and Tongaat also released updates.
