Ghost Bites (Mr Price | Reinet | Valterra Platinum)

Mr Price is pushing ahead with the NKD deal. Valterra Platinum had a spectacular second half in 2025. Reinet's lack of share buybacks is a strong signal that they have big plans for their cash.

Ghost Bites (Clicks | Reinet | Sasol | South32 | Truworths)

Sasol had a huge day thanks to fuel volumes. Clicks and Truworths are perfect examples of how share prices respond based on expectations vs. results, not just the results themselves. South32 is on track this year. Reinet's NAV has dipped slightly.

Ghost Bites (Coronation | Karooooo | Quilter)

Quilter's growth rate in assets under management and administration is impressive to say the least. Closer to home, Coronation is also growing strongly. Karooooo's margins contracted this quarter, but top-line growth is still solid.

Ghost Bites (BHP | Merafe)

BHP's first half is encouraging and the company has upgraded guidance for 2026 in copper as the key commodity. The guidance for the Jansen project is a sign of inflationary pressure, though. Over at Merafe, ferrochrome production has dropped to negligible levels.

Ghost Bites (Alphamin | Sibanye-Stillwater)

Alphamin had a strong 2025 despite security challenges in the DRC. Sibanye-Stillwater has plotted the way forward for its lithium asset, with cautious optimism as the overall theme.

Ghost Bites (Aveng | Ninety One)

Aveng has announced a change in top management, with the CEO leaving the group at the end of January 2026. Ninety One's AUM has continued its positive trajectory.

Ghost Bites (Hyprop | Richemont)

Richemont's results clearly show the effect of geopolitical turmoil on global currencies - the growth in constant currency is much higher than reported growth. Hyprop's disposal of Hyde Park Corner has fallen through.

Ghost Bites (Glencore | Grindrod | Northam Platinum | Primary Health Properties | Shuka Minerals | Tharisa)

With SENS kicking into life, normal daily programming should resume soon. In the meantime, this catch-up edition deals with mining news from Glencore, Northam Platinum, Tharisa and junior house Shuka Minerals. Grindrod is enjoying strong port volumes in Mozambique. Primary Health Properties is off to a good start in life-after-Assura.
