Ghost Bites (AB InBev | MC Mining)

AB InBev's beer volumes increased this quarter, giving the market a positive surprise and leading to a jump in the share price. MC Mining also had a good day, confirming that the final subscription amount by Kinetic Development Group is in the bank.

Ghost Bites (Clientèle | Glencore | Merafe | MTN | Santova)

Dividend darling Clientèle wants to delist. Glencore is telling a bullish story after Q1, with MTN Nigeria also enjoying the current oil situation. Merafe should have an answer on the electricity tariffs by June. Santova clawed back a lot of lost ground in the second half of the year.

Ghost Bites (Afrimat | Oasis Crescent | Octodec)

Afrimat was loss-making in the second half of the year. Octodec has weighed in on the Emira voluntary offer. Oasis Crescent had modest growth in the latest year.

Ghost Bites (Aspen | Exxaro | Investec | Momentum | Schroder European Real Estate)

Aspen has released the APAC deal circular. Exxaro's dividend is much higher. Investec's UK business is lagging. Momentum is largely positive. Schroder European Real Estate remains unappealing to me.

Ghost Bites (Aspen | Brimstone | Caxton | Discovery | iOCO | Nedbank | Optasia | Sea Harvest | Shoprite | WBHO | Weaver)

Sea Harvest just had the year of their lives. Nedbank has taken major transformative steps. Shoprite is still growing despite the low-inflation environment. Aspen, Brimstone, Caxton, Discovery, iOCO, Optasia, WBHO and Weaver rounded out a busy day on the market.

Ghost Bites (Anglo American | AngloGold | Dis-Chem | enX | Sibanye-Stillwater | Spar)

Dis-Chem is focusing on market share gains and the benefits of its rewards programme. Spar can only dream of that world, as they now scramble to find a new CEO. Major mining updates came in from Anglo American, AngloGold and Sibanye-Stillwater. enX is selling the rest of the WAI business to Trichem.

Ghost Bites (Aspen | Capitec | City Lodge | Nampak | Pan African Resources | Trustco)

Capitec's excellent growth story continues. Pan African Resources made a fortune in 2025. Aspen's interims are predictably awful, but they are looking to the future. Nampak's business update is encouraging. City Lodge's growth was offset by currency moves. Trustco's Meya Mining raised debt for its diamond mining ambitions.

Ghost Bites (AfroCentric | Aspen | Novus – Mustek)

Aspen announced the disposal of Aspen APAC and the market loved it. AfroCentric is disposing of Activo and the market forgot to notice - for now, at least. And for Novus, a purchase of 3,000 shares has turned out to be very expensive in the Mustek deal.
