A busy couple of days saw primarily mining sector updates, with important funding news at BHP and Orion Minerals. Exxaro has locked in a long-term supply contract with Eskom. Eastern Platinum hopes to break even in 2026. MTN Ghana has localised ownership of its fintech business. Nu-World's trading statement is encouraging.

A busy day of earnings updates saw AVI, Mpact, Santam and Sun International give us a view on primarily the South African economy. Choppies has problems in Botswana. Harmony Gold gave an idea of earnings growth, while Pan African Resources is pressing forward in Australia. Southern Sun's deal for the Sandton properties has fallen through.

Lewis has bucked the retail trend and shown its quality. AVI's reputation for margin expansion has been earned once more. Accelerate Property Fund has sold another property at close to NAV.

AngloGold is cashing in while the gold price is high. AVI, Premier Group and Santam are enjoying strong results. Stor-Age is dependable, but needs to be careful of the UK. Barloworld's earnings continue to drop. Copper 360's capital raise is imminent.
