Ghost Bites (CMH | Ethos Capital | HCI | Metair | SA Corporate Real Estate | Stefanutti Stocks | Valterra Platinum)

Metair's luck goes from bad to worse. Ethos Capital and HCI are busy with major deals, while Stefanutti Stocks has closed a disposal. SA Corporate Real Estate grew the distribution ahead of inflation. CMH repurchased over 7% of its shares. Valterra Platinum has an investment grade credit rating.

Premier and RFG Holdings shareholders gave a resounding approval to the deal that will combine the groups. Fairvest is investing deeper in township fibre. Mantengu has commissioned the second chrome processing plant.

Ghost Bites (Anglo American | Grindrod | KAP | Libstar | Mr Price)

Mr Price blows up its investment thesis - and spectacularly. KAP is looking much better. Anglo American and Teck Resources shareholders approve the merger. Grindrod's performance is a mixed bag. Libstar continues to clean house.

Thungela updated the market on a tough year. British American Tobacco has reaffirmed 2026 guidance. BHP unlocked capital through a BlackRock infrastructure deal. Merafe is hoping for progress with Eskom. Mahube Infrastructure may be leaving our market.

Ghost Bites (Absa | Capitec | Italtile | Nampak | Spar | Sygnia)

In banking, Absa's expense growth is a concern and Capitec is acquiring fintech Walletdoc for up to R400 million. In turnaround valley, Nampak is a lot further along in the process than Spar. Italtile is really struggling in this market. Sygnia is growing strongly, but why is dividend growth lagging?

Stor-Age raised capital at a premium to NAV. Gemfields looks brighter. Aveng won't be selling McConnell Dowell for now at least. British American Tobacco unlocked over R7 billion in cash. RMB Holdings received an expression of interest from Atterbury. Reality has hit at Trematon. Schroder European Real Estate is a struggle.

Ghost Bites (Brimstone | British American Tobacco | Hyprop | Sappi | Stor-Age | Vodacom)

Hyprop's bookbuild was a huge success and now Stor-Age is jumping on that bandwagon. Vodacom is taking control of Safaricom. Sappi is trying to improve its situation in European graphic paper. British American Tobacco is selling down ITC Hotels, while Brimstone is reducing its Oceana stake.

Ghost Bites (Araxi | Glencore | Hyprop | Nedbank | Raubex | Sabvest)

Glencore's Capital Markets Day is a love letter to copper. Nedbank has had a very poor year, while Sabvest has grown beautifully. Hyprop is looking to raise R300 million. Raubex may sell Bauba Resources and Araxi may buy a business in the payments space.
